NetServ Network-Attached Storage and CD/DVD/Blu-ray Disc Server
Network-Attached Storage (NAS) and CD/DVD/Blu-ray Disc Media Sharing in One System

NetServ is the one system you need for both CD/DVD/Blu-ray sharing and network-attached data storage:
CD/DVD/Blu-ray Sharing– Put your CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs on your network so those who need access can get it when they need it, where they need it. No more searching for lost CDs, DVDs, or Blu-ray discs or replacing damaged disc media. With a network-attached CD/DVD/Blu-ray disc server, multiple users can share disc media simultaneously.
Network-Attached Data Storage :- Gain more network data storage space and back up servers and workstations regularly. Use the NetServ for data archiving, additional user space, as a staging point for tape backup or for diskless backup. Alternatively, backup your files to CD, DVD, or Blu-ray, load the disc images into the NetServ CD/DVD/Blu-ray NAS media server and store the original media offsite for safekeeping.

Features and Benefits of the NAS Server & CD/DVD Server
FEATURE: This server is ideal for a CD/DVD/Blu-ray library ranging from a handful of discs all the way up to thousands of CDs, DVDs, or Blu-ray discs (or a mix of all). You get a greater breadth of capacity than a jukebox in the size of a breadbox (or desktop tower or rack - depending on customer requirements).
BENEFIT: Your CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs are organized, safe, and easy to access by anyone on the network.
FEATURE:By imaging the CD/DVD/Blu-ray discs to a hard disc drive, this NAS media server can hold many more titles and provide faster access. CD/DVD towers or jukeboxes cannot approach this level of service or value. The system automatically saves an exact image of the disc media, then creates a folder for the contents and shares those out to users on the network.
BENEFIT: Access speeds are far faster than a traditional CD/DVD server, CD Tower or jukebox where the discs must be in the tower in order to work.
FEATURE:By imaging the CD/DVD/Blu-ray discs to a hard disc drive, more users can be supported and multiple discs can be accessed simultaneously. Any authorized user on your network can access CD, DVD, and Blu-ray disc information from the server without the need for proprietary client software. The information that users need is centrally located at their fingertips and accessible in familiar ways, such as a share viewable via Network Neighborhood or as a mapped drive off their desktop. No need to go searching for elusive discs, and no additional training is required.
BENEFIT: With network-attached CD/DVD/Blu-ray storage, people can work faster and more productively.
FEATURE: The system attaches directly to the Ethernet network. Simply connect it to your network, enter an IP address, and use its built-in reader to capture CD/DVD/Blu-ray disc images. You are up and running in minutes. Users see (and read or search) the contents of each disc as with a network file server. Unlike SCSI attached towers, it doesn't require a server to host it. You save by either freeing up an existing server or avoiding having to purchase a server and server network license. Place it near the users who have CDs, DVDs, or Blu-ray discs they need to share.
BENEFIT: It doesn't have to be located next to a server in a computer room because it's attached to the network.
FEATURE:Some CDs/DVDs/Blu-ray discs will not work unless they are physically in the local disc drive. This restriction prevents all DVD towers, CD jukeboxes and most CD/DVD servers from being able to share these titles. However, this PrimeArray NAS media server device includes unique emulation software to circumvent this restriction by creating a virtual drive locally on the workstation. To applications it appears the disc is in a local optical drive when in fact the disc is shared via the server.
BENEFIT:Lets you share a CD, DVD, or Blu-ray disc that would otherwise have to be in a local reader drive to work.
FEATURE:The Content Manager utility will find all CD/DVD/Blu-ray disc servers on your network and list all available discs to be shared. You simply drag-n-drop disc images into shareable, categorized folders that you create. These folders can then be viewed by end user PCs via the Content Client. The end user simply clicks on a specific disc image and views the contained data or runs an executable program.
BENEFIT:Lets you centrally manage and categorize shared CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs for your end users.
FEATURE:The content of subscription-based disc media changes on a regular basis often monthly. Every time a new subscription arrives you simply click on the disc title in the administration utility, insert the disc into the PrimeArray CD/DVD/Blu-ray server's optical drive and it automatically uploads and replaces the outdated disc while maintaining user access rights.
BENEFIT:Gives users instant access to new information.

BENEFIT: Alerts you to viruses, working in real-time or during scheduled intervals.
FEATURE:The system includes built-in synchronization support for server-to-server mirroring, distribution, and tapeless backup of CD, DVD, and Blu-ray disc servers. The synchronization tasks run over TCP/IP using SSH to ensure secure communications. Synchronization compresses the differential blocks from changed files and can be configured to use customizable bandwidth to reduce the utilization of the scarce network bandwidth. Replicated data retains the same file/folder-level security.
Mirroring: | Creates an exact duplicate copy of data from a share or folder on one server to another. (Servers can function as either Mirror servers or clients.) |
Distribution: | Replicates an exact duplicate copy of data from a share or folder on a master server to up-to eight other target servers. (Servers can function as a master distribution server or distribution targets.) |
Tapeless Backup/Restore: | Performs a server-to-server backup. Two systems are required, one as the backup server, others as backup clients. The backup server makes and keeps backups of client data. Backup version control is similar to the GFS (Godfather-Father-Son) tape rotation scheme commonly used on tape backups. When a new backup version is created, it checks and deletes obsolete backups automatically according to predefined rules. |
BENEFIT: Data replication to another network attached storage server.
FEATURE:The system includes local tape backup/restore software that supports full/incremental backups of selected folders, flexible backup schedules and original/alternative restoration. It also features comprehensive backup/restore progress information and detailed summary logs. Tape backup has the option to include ACL security setting when backing up and restoring data. System settings such as user database and quota settings and network shares may also be backed up. It also provides for file- and folder-level selection for tape restoration of CD, DVD, and Blu-ray disc media.
BENEFIT: Full or incremental backup for data protection.
FEATURE:Snapshots are point-in-time copies of the file-system. When creating a snapshot, the file-system is momentarily frozen and creates a record of all changes. It can back up several terabytes of disc media data in less than a second. Since files are not modified during snapshot creation, data integrity is maintained. Because of their speed, Snapshots solve the problems of long backup windows and open files commonly associated with tape backup. Snapshot keeps track of file changes in blocks, so even frequent backups can require little or disk space. Backed up data is maintained online and clients can access previous versions of their files through special read-only snap folders.
BENEFIT: Enables quick state capture.
FEATURE: The NetServ comes with the ability to configure its hard drive storage as RAID 0, 1 and 5 arrays for disc media servers. RAID 0 increases data access speed and enables the creation of a maximum sized data volume. RAID 1 mirrors one hard drive disk to another. RAID 5 is for systems with three or more disk drives. The data is spread across all the drives in the RAID array such that the loss of any drive will not result in the loss of data or up time. RAID 6 extends RAID 5 by adding an additional parity block. With RAID 10 the drives are striped for performance and all striped drives are duplicated for fault tolerance. RAID features include:
- Integrated hardware RAID controller
- Supports 4 concurrent RAID sets
- Cross-platform Journaling File System
- User disk quotas supported
BENEFIT: Robust data protection.
It also provides for file- and folder-level selection for tape restoration of CD/DVD/Blu-ray disc data.
BENEFIT: Full or incremental backup for data protection.
FEATURE:In the unlikely event of a disc drive failure, a drive that has been designated as a hot-spare will automatically be swapped into the RAID array replacing the defective drive. The system will automatically rebuild the RAID array on the new drive. This all happens without user intervention. You can also increase the capacity of a RAID group or replace a defective drive with hot swappable drives and hot capacity expansion - without shutting down or restarting the NetServ disc media server.

Stand Alone: | Both adapters simultaneously receive and transmit data as two logical channels. Ports can be connected to one or two different subnets. |
Fault Tolerance: | The second port automatically takes over upon any failure of the primary connection (cable, adapter or port). If the connection to the primary adapter is restored, control passes automatically back to the primary adapter. |
Load Balancing: | If data flow increases to one network connection, traffic is automatically redistributed to ensure optimal network performance. |
Link Aggregation: | Both adapters simultaneously receive and transmit data as a single logical channel. Includes fault tolerance and load balancing. This feature requires a switch that supports Intel Link Aggregation, Cisco FEC, or IEEE 802.3ad (static-mode configuration only). |
