Below is an illustration of the various storage media that can be used in the Multi-Media Tower PRO
You can get an MMT model that is equipped with the following storage devices all in one box: a removable hard drive system, a Blu-ray/DVD/CD player or burner, a 4-slot Flash memory card reader/writer for accessing practically all the common flash media in the market or a Micro SATA reader that can access Micro SATA drive and CFast memory card. You may also customize your own Multi-Media Tower with the storage devices to meet your disc media server application.
The MMT is constructed with lightweight and strong aluminum with a carrying handle for easy transportation. All the storage devices in the Multi-Media Tower are designed to connect to any system via a Port Multiplier compatible USB port on a Desktop or Notebook to ensure the best performance as a disc server. Once connected, five different drive icons (drive letters) corresponding to each type of disc media will be added to your system. There is no special driver or any additional software to install. Data stored in different media, such as CD, DVD, or Blu-ray, can then be opened by your application software or drag and drop to different storage media.

Note 1: Please confirm with your system manufacturer that the USB port that comes built-in with the system is Port Multiplier (PM) compatible. You may add a PM compatible USB port to your system with an add-on controller via PCI or PCI-Express slot on a Desktop or an ExpressCard slot on your Notebook. Controllers that use the Silicon Image 3132 or 3124 chipset are PM compatible and Addonics offer a family of these controllers.
MMT Disc Media Server
- Connect up to four 3.5" SATA hard drives of any capacity and one DVD-RRW drive to system via USB port of a PM compatible controller
- Four hard drive drives can be added or removed like tape cartridge from the drive bay with no special tool required.
- Built-in DVD+/-R/RW optical drive able to read and write to CD, DVD, and Blu-ray disc media.
- Supported OS: Windows 2000 or later release, Mac OS 10.6 and above, Linux kernel 2.4 and above
- Connect to Port Multiplier compatible USB port
